Art Work For Client Room

At WCWAV, we have a client room- it is a room where we can take women in crisis to try and put them at their ease and where they can talk confidentially with one of our support workers. Sometimes women can be in there for up to two hours in any one session.

It is important that the room is comfortable and calming. Lately, it’s been looking a bit dated and dark and we’d like to give it a makeover!

We have a limited budget and have recently spent funds on buying new toys for the toy box as many women come with their younger children in tow. There is enough of a budget to buy  a couple of nice comfortable armchairs but what the room needs is some artwork to lift the spirit, a little colour to lighten the soul and create the kind of conducive atmosphere that will help a client feel more relaxed and confident.

So we are asking you are friends and volunteers who are creative artists or who have friends who are artistic if you would be interested in donating or making something for the room.

We think that it’s also important that any changes or additions to the room be women-positive, giving a message of strength and encouragement.  If you can help or know someone who would be interested in helping, please contact Eithne our administrator at the number below. If necessary we can let those interested see the room for ideas.

We will of course acknowledge any contributions and know that not only will it be genuinely appreciated by the staff but by  the women who come to us seeking support.
